Give yourself a break!
Give yourself a break.
Take a break, a real break.
For me, among the most important and regularly practiced self -care practices that is also for me a spiritual practice is taking a day off. Whether you call it Sabbath or something else, it's taking a day off. And I don't mean a day when I'm not at the office, or doing work stuff. It's a day where I swear off anything that resembles work, that has that energy in my body of, I gotta do this.
And so if cooking feels like play, I cook. If it doesn't feel like play, I'll get chips and hummus out. So anything that takes me away from the energy of "I must" to "I may". I feel like walking on the beach. I will walk on the beach. I feel like going for a bike ride. I go for a bike ride. I feel like stopping at Tio's for Mexican food. Let's do that. They have great food there.
Whatever feels nurturing and restful is fair game.
Movie, no movie. Watch the moon rise. Don't watch the moon rise. No prescription.
And that's the whole point.
Give yourself a break.
